Shark Encounter at Sea World Orlando
Posted by: | Comments
This is the Shark Encounter at Sea World Orlando. It also showcases life on the reef and the terrors that lurk in the ocean.
You may notice three large glass windows in the shark tank. Those are the windows for the Sharks Underwater Grill restaraunt. It’s a rather pricey sitdown restaraunt that requires reservations but I’ve heard the food is really good.
This exibit has drastically changed since it’s opening in the late 80′s. The entrance originally was where the Sharks Underwater Grill restaraunt entrance is today and that is where the two theater’s were that would show movies about the different types of sharks while also debunking some of the myths surrounding the shark species. Remember, at the time this exibit opened, the “Jaws” movies were still very fresh in our memories.
It was the converted into what you see today in the late 90′s under the name “Terror’s of the Deep” but everyone still called it the “Shark Encounter” so the “Terror’s of the Deep” name only lasted a few years. Then, just recently came the Sharks Underwater Grill restaraunt and that brings you up to date on the history of this exibit. Enjoy the video.
